3 Tips for a Successful 2016

I’ve been blessed to have a few business mentors, earlier this year at the Business Lab in Stratford, they have given me so much business support and advice to propel my business forward. It was 3 of Simon Fordham’s tips that I wanted to share at this time of year as I reflect on my achievements of 2015.

Tip#1 – Reflect

Simon’s advice is to develop the habit of reflecting on your achievements on a regular basis and especially at the end of the year. If I had developed this from the beginning of the year, I would probably be more focused, so I invite you to do this on a more regular basis which will give you clarity and motivation.

My top 3 achievements for Healing Feeling this year have been:

  1. Completing my web-site to be officially launched in 2016.
  2. I finally overcame my procrastination and fear and have begun to write some blog posts. This spurred me to write my book which I have wanted to do for years! (That’s two achievements rolled into one).
  3. As part of the Global Entrepreneur Week, I was invited to speak on a panel discussing “Mindfulness in Business.” This was an amazing experience which has given me the confidence to seek out other speaking engagements for 2016 and beyond.

Tip#2 – Reward

When you have achieved something, you should reward yourself for all the hard work and effort that you put into your achievements. The reason is that it keeps you motivated and you don’t get burn out. This is something that I am improving on and I have highlighted an opportunity to make this a personal goal for next year. I am definitely getting better at this. I treated myself to a massage last Saturday and I’m going to the cinema this coming Saturday.

Tip#3 – Reclaim

Reclaim your energy by making sure you rest regularly and take time to do the hobbies that you enjoy. This should be part of the weekly timetable….this will be a personal goal too.

2016 Goal Setting

So, first ask yourself, “What have I achieved this year?” “How have I developed personally?” “What have I learnt?” When you ask yourself these questions, you will find that will highlight new goals or tweak ones you are working on, as I have done as above. I am going to complete this exercise now. What will you be working on in 2016?
